Pseudotargeted Metabolomics Reveals the Effects of High Root-Zone Temperature Stress on Leaves and Roots of Medicago sativa

Abstract Alfalfa ( Medicago sativa L.) is the most widely planted forage, which have higer economically valuable and better ecological benefits in world. However, it’s sensitive to high root-zone temperature tropical subtropical areas. In order explore changes of metabolites alfalfa under heat stress, study applied unique landrace ‘Deqin’ explored mechanisms on basis pseudotargeted metabolomics. The results showed that phenotype leaves roots were changed remarkly, leaf chlorophyll content, electrolyte leakage, H 2 O content soluble sugar also at different treatments. Meanwhile, stress may stimulate germination new response adverse environment. Metabonomics analysis a total 809 749 detected respectively, treated with four ways. Of these, 343 383 identified as differential roots, respectively; they mainly belongs phenylpropanoids, polyketides, organic acids derivatives, derivatives. Among them, enriched glyoxylate dicarboxylate metabolism, citrate cycle, aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis, flavone flavonol phenylpropanoid biosynthesis. some such derivatives play an important role M. ‘Deqin’. Overall, this reports pathways temperature, provides insights into alfalfa.
